Where we come from
Founded in South Africa in 2000, SuperPayroll was originally called NuQ. It was founded with the vision of creating a truly global payroll system based on modern technology.
Leveraging the power of the Microsoft technology stack (.NET and SQL Server) was key to making that vision reality. This platform allowed us to build a web application with practically unlimited scalability that is feature-rich, with multi-company, multi-tax authority, multi-language, and multi-currency support.
In the decades since, aside from keeping SuperPayroll current with evolving technology, we have organically expanded the client base, the service offering, and the software's features. This includes localizations for additional countries and various integrations to third party systems. In 2022 NuQ was rebranded to SuperPayroll.
Today, the SuperPayroll software offers great scalability and flexibility, running on the latest versions of .NET and SQL Server. Clients can choose to run their payrolls themselves or to outsource it to us and the software can be hosted on-premise or in the cloud. SuperPayroll has been localised for more than 20 countries in Africa and the Middle East. We support hundreds of payrolls, ranging in employee headcount from single digits to more than ten thousand. Many of our clients run payrolls across multiple countries, companies, and currencies using SuperPayroll.
Where we're going
We're continuously innovating towards our goal of making every one of our users a payroll superhero.
SuperPayroll already has a lot of features to automate integration, calculations, and reporting processes. We're building on this foundation to further refine the scope and extent of automation and to continuously improve the end user experience. Our short-medium term roadmap includes various automation enhancements and reporting improvements.
We're also constantly expanding our reseller network, and adding support for additional countries and third party system integrations. If you have a requirement we haven't covered yet or would like to partner with us, please get in touch.
Who we are
The SuperPayroll team consists of ~10 people based in Centurion, South Africa, and mostly working remotely from home. This core team provides support directly to customers, back-to-back support for resellers, ongoing development of the software, and ensures that compliance remains up to date.
Our team has over 130 years’ collective experience in payroll software and is the backbone of the SuperPayroll support ecosystem. The team is led by Anton van der Bijl.
